Does excess smoke coming from the exhaust pipe pose a health risk?
I will be taking the car in soon to be repaired but was wondering whether there was any concern with the carbon monoxide leaking or anything similar to that.

Whenever a large amount of exhaust is coming from the tail pipe, it doesn’t directly effect the person inside the car. The exhaust is coming from the outside. If anything, the exhaust is effecting the environment around you. Since you are in a closed space which means you are in the car, then there isn’t anything to worry about health wise. But you have the right idea, you need to get this issue fixed right away. The exhaust is however doing more damage to the ozone layer, and those around you. But as far as your concern about your own health, you are fine.
